Just interviewed there today. Really Really nice campus. The interview was really relaxed, it was as if we were just talking. They were friendly and very receptive. Angie and Annette rock, I wish all admissions offices had people like them. I am definitely considering this school if I am lucky enough to get in. Definitely stay at the General Lewis Inn and if your flying directly into LWB, you should take the shuttle service there to the inn. First ride to the inn is free and the pickup back to the airport is 12 dollars plus tip. Dress in layers as its nippy here in the morning but warms up to 70 in the afternoon. The students are very friendly and they look very close. A student I had lunch with mentioned that they spend lots of time together (sometimes too much time haha) and really become a community. Housing here is very reasonable, coming from CA, I would say it's a steal and many of the people I interviewed with who were from states neighboring WV also agree. BTW their gross anatomy lab is to die for!!!
Did you fly from CA to WV? And if you don't mind, how much did you spend on your plane ticket because the average price for a ticket from sacramento to lewisburg is ~$700?
Hey Dd808dD, I flew out of LAX with two lay overs on the way to LWB. Total cost was ~ $560 after tax and fees. I booked it through Orbitz like a week and a half before my interview ( I know not too smart). If you do fly into LWB, just take the shuttle service at the airport its only 12 dollars one way, waay better than renting the car for 35 dollars a day. I heard that if you fly into Charleston you can shave off 100-200 dollars on airfare but you have to drive from Charleston to LWB and that takes like 1.5 hours ( I didn't want to get lost). BTW, if you do fly into LWB there aren't many flights in or out so I would call the admissions office and ask if you can find out when ur interview is (morning or afternoon) and plan your flight home accordingly. I ended up staying an extra day because I had an afternoon interview and there are no flights out of LWB after 4pm. I could have gone home the same day as my interview ended before 2pm but by then I had already booked my flights, soooo see if you can ask for a morning interview if you want to go home the same day.
Whew, long post. Good Luck, I really liked this school!!
