Hi all, I'm currently scrambling to get together all neccesary information to get from Green Bay, WI to my West Virginia interview on October 13th.
Can people tell me the details of their trip to make this process easier.

-cheapest flights
-where did you fly into
-where did you stay
-Did you need to rent a car, etc.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Stay at the General Lewis Inn, its very close to the school and you can walk into town for a nice night after the interview. Also a very nice and beautiful place I must say, but I've eaten there only once.

Ask the school for a student discount, I remember someone saying that they got one for the General Lewis Inn.

i had an interview at WVSOM earlier this month actually. Got accepted. Very Nice school, quaint little town (not really my thing). Keep in mind, WVSOM has probably one of the highest OUT-of-STATE tuitions known to man. They estimated it to be about $75,000 per year.

I actually drove in which was dumb because it literally took me about 8 hours. Where do you stay? Try the General Lewis Inn. Regular rates are about $100 BUT if you tell them you're there for an interview, they give you 50% off which is around $50. Renting a car? well it depends how long you really want to stay there. If you're planning on staying for acouple classes and sitting in, which they recommend, or wanting to explore the town, you probably might want to rent. If not, or were in a hurry as i was, just get back home as soon as you can.

Hey I interviewed there last Monday (9-18) they said I would find out this Tuesday. Did you really find out on the day that they said you would? Also, I am worried about getting put on hold until they get my August MCAT. I took it in April and got a 22P, any insite? Whatwere your stats? How did you feel about your interview? I felt mine went really well but now I am SO nervous. I actually LOVED the school and the area.

to OP:
I flew into DC, missed a plane to Roanoke and so I drove from DC to Lewisburg, it is a nice drive. I stayed at the General Lewis, $79 after tax and with the discount, but I also needed a room for my husband and I, so maybe it was more expensive. Renting a car was inexpensive and was really the only option for me because the airport I flew out of there was no way I could fly into lewisburg.

i wouldn't be too nervous. The waitlist isn't the end. You still have a VERY good chance of getting in. On a further note, the fact that you interviewed this early means that they see something in your application that caught their eyes and that's always a plus. If you did well on your interview, i'm sure you got in.

and yes, i found out within a week's time. I checked the internet site.

hope that helps.

Can you just take a taxi from the airport to the general Lewis inn? Also, would I just be able to walk to the school from the Hotel?

I'm trying to not rent a car if I don't have to.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the airport. I'm almost positive you could take a taxi. I drove so don't know where the airport is.

However, the general lewis inn is right on the edge of campus so yes you can walk from there. maybe like a 5 minute walk if that.

Furthermore, the 1st and 2nd year studetns actually take you out to lunch at the general lewis inn so enjoy it and ask alot of questions.

I think that I heard somewhere that the General Lewis will pick you up from the airport if need be, maybe call and ask? and yes the inn is walking distance to the school.

Hey there I'm flying out to Lewisburg this Monday night for an interview. I am staying at the General Lewis Inn. From talking to the inn's receptionist, there is no compliemntary shuttle service. I thought there was from the weblinks the school gave us... and there is no taxi service (also according to the receptionist). So I decided to rent a car. I would ask again to be sure tho. Good luck!

I asked the people at the airport for a taxi/shuttle service from the Greenbrier airport to the General Lewis Inn. I didn't expect it to be free but when I asked the driver how much it was he said to forget about it and gave me his card saying to give him a calll when I leave and that he'll take me to the airport. It was free both times. Maybe I was just lucky.
