My interview is on Monday August 22nd, and I am also from NJ. I am spending the week in DC before my interview; however, I do know the interview day is over around 2pm if you interview in the morning, which is what it sounds like. If your interview is scheduled for the afternoon, your day is not over until 5 pm. The area is very rural, and there are less than 3,700 people in the entire town. However, the school's facilities are amazing, from high tech anatomy labs to personalized desks in lecture halls. There is a wealth of information on their website; you should definitely check it out. I will post feedback on this site under Medical School Interview Feedback when I return, so you will know my experience from the interview. There is feedback up about previous years, and it is all very helpful! Good luck with your interview.

The interview is pretty relaxing compared to most other schools. I felt right at home.

You start out with breakfast at the general lewis inn at 8am. (informal)

Then you interview with 3 of the faculty

Then you can mingle with the students in between your interview time and lunch.

At lunch you go with some 1st or 2nd year students back to the General Lewis.

Afterwards you will have a financial aid session, telling you how much the tuition is and that they will get you loans to pay for it.

You will also be told about the Problem Based Learning Track at this time for a few minutes.

Then you are free to go! It's a 5-6 hour day with the entire process.

WVSOM is pretty quick in making a decision too, so it is best to have all your Letters of Recommendation in prior to the interview. Though I had to send in my D.O. letter 2 weeks after mine.

Good luck with the interview and hope you enjoy your visit to L-town! 🙂

I'm a first year from NJ. So happy to see some other Jersey people may be coming down!

How were you planning to drive here? I'm from central jersey (monmouth co. area). Do Pensey Tpk to 81 South to 64 West. Long....boring.....drive. Have lots of CD's. Long drive, but totally do-able if you're concerned about being really far from home.

I like it here so far, but I will warn you that you can't get a good pizza in town.

And when you do come, please bring me some pork roll!
