WVSOM or Delaying Year

So I have been accepted to WVSOM for this year but have also been early accepted to VCOM VA next year pending I don't receive a seat for this year (on the waiting list). Since I am still deciding, just wanted some input on if it's worth delaying a year of school so I can go to the school of my choice.

If you'd prefer to go to VCOM, then why not?

You can use this year to do what you'd like. Go have fun.

WVSOM in-state or out-of-state? If its in-state, I'd go to WVSOM. Both will get you what you want, but WVSOM will do it faster, and VCOM might do it cheaper (if you're out-of-state). It really depends on what you want though.

In terms of strictly financials, losing 1 yr attending pay is probably worse than the price difference between the schools, but you could do a lot with a year of youth that might be worth delaying med school for a year. It really depends on which school you like more and what your specific situation is.

Please wait until you get to VCOM because WVSOM is a not a great school. Administration is disorganized and they don't care about students. You might think you are only at school for 2 years but remember you are also in WV for third year. Third year is not easy also because you have horrible regional deans. I heard that south central and south east is horrible because it is run by someone named Rubin - this guy does not care about students at ALL - he is always trying to cover his own behind. I heard he is arrogant, hates his job, inappropriate, awful man.

I understand you don't want to waste an year but it is definietely not worth going to WVSOM
