Hello, my brother has been accepted to these two schools (West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and LMU-DCOM) and I would like to ask which would be a better choice for him. He would like to pursue surgery but is keeping his mind open.
LMU-DCOM:
Pros:
In-State.
About an hour from home.
Decent Match List.
Cons:
Have heard things from other students and in this forum about the quality of rotations/education.
WVSOM:
Pros:
Have heard better things about rotations/education experience.
Cons:
Out of State
Farther from home, about 6 hours.
Other things I'm not aware of, honestly do not too much about the school's reputation and rotation quality.
I didn't list COA because in either case, they are both around 50k. Although, WVSOM apparently has a program where if you GA for them for one year they pay the full tuition of your third and fourth year. I appreciate any and all advice! Especially since the deadline for deposit is March 10th or so.
