Not yet. But I was going through that forum from the link you posted on 1/3 and followed a couple of other people that sounded like they were in the same boat as us. Several people got wait-listed at the end of December, then the next time anyone heard anything was around mid-March. One person got accepted and a few others just got a letter to say they were still on the wait-list. Eventually, everyone that was wait-listed again in March got rejected. Hopefully more of us will hear good news the next time we get anything, but I figure they will follow a similar timeline.
 
Anybody that got put on hold hear anything yet?
 
Anyone know if you can gain residency status to pay in state tuition for yr 2 if you move there and your spouse works there for 12 months?

Not sure about WVU, but I know for a fact you can at Marshall....if its based on a state law then that would be the same for wvu....ask the admissions office, they should know....

Anybody get an update letter today?
 
I just emailed Beth Ann, and she told me that update letters were sent out on Feb. 4th. I haven't been home. So, I thought I would see if anybody else has gotten this update letter.
 
i guess this was the thread i was looking for. Received a letter Jan 30th saying i was on their Alternate/Waitlist.

Beth Ann did say all oos applicants are put on that list, so i guess all hope is not lost. But who knows.

Welcome Giddyup! Yep, I'm OOS and on the list as well. Anyone that is OOS received an acceptance yet?

No update letter for me yet.
 
I received the letter, and it just states that I remain on the waitlist. Although it is nice to receive something, I was hoping for some better news. Just more waiting.
 
i counted the people that got in of their waitlist last year on sdn. I think between 5-10.

So there is hope for us oos but not great.
 
I interviewed a couple weeks ago and am still waiting. I figured that I would have heard something by now. I will have to email and harass the the admissions lady...

I hate waiting!
 
I received a wait/alternate list letter via snail mail a month after my interview. I'm an OOS. 😕

Any thoughts on what to expect? When? :idea: 👍

Looks like you are in the same boat as the rest of us. No idea on what to expect or when.

I interviewed a little under a month ago and still haven't heard anything as far as being on hold or acceptance/rejection. Even after E-mailing the admissions lady over a week ago, I have still not heard anything.

I wouldn't stress. I didn't hear anything until the letter came on January 4th. That's like 1.5 months.
 
Just talked to Beth. She said that there hasn't been much movement on the waitlist since committee has been waiting to fill the class (until they are done or almost done with the interviews). She said this should start happening in the next week or so and that status letters should come then. I wish all of you luck!:luck:
 
Just got accepted - OOS. Int 2/18, received letter in mail 2/27.

Does anyone know how easy it is to switch your campus for 3rd and 4th year? I was assigned to Charleston and I really would like Morgantown because my wife and I are moving down and I would like to buy a house if possible.

nothing yet. I am on break though and am unable to check my mail. It has been about a month and a half since my interview. I'm also curious if anyone has heard anything
 
Just now received my acceptance! OOS, interviewed 2-25, letter dated 3-4!
 
Just emailed Beth. Final meeting is tomorrow, so everyone will know by the end of the week whether they are accepted, waitlisted, or rejected.
 
Just to save people the time to find out from Beth:

- There are 173 people on the waitlist this year
- The waitlist is not ranked, it is done alphabetically.
- The committee meets every other week during the summer to decide who will fill the open slots they get.
- Every year the number of withdrawls ranges from 30-60.
- Updates will come at least once per month.

Now I'm not sure what "alphabetically" means: are open slots filled by people with last names closer to "A" first? If anyone knows this, please let me know.
 
Did you call Beth Ann and ask her about the result of the meeting yesterday?

Me too! I have not heard a thing. Interviewed in December.
 
Interviewed in October and have been waitlisted since the beginning of November. OOS. Looks like I started the waitlist. Anyone got any info on the number of OOSers who are on the waitlist? Also do you think they'd be at all influenced by the fact that my girlfriend is a WV resident who will be going to dental school there this fall?
 
Honestly, I don't think girlfriends matter.. 🙂

I'm in the same shoes... OOS... waiting....... 😴😴😴

We are at least 3 of the 173. Beth said there really has not been that much movement so far.
