I think both "sides" need to give a little leeway here.

Yes, it was short sighted of RSalha17 to make the thread considering there is already another thread for interviews/rejections. However, I'm sure many of you can relate to being really stressed this time of year. So when your #1 school grants you an interview, it is understandable that you are "on top of the world" and post a thread about it. RSalha17 was probably too caught up in his excitement to really think about it... Give him a break 👍🙂

Also, I don't think he should have seen this coming. There is no excuse for the berating and/or condescending words posted above, regardless of the thread title. Should he have expected some people to be jealous, or argue the point of the thread? Yes. Should he have expected to be insulted? No.

Many students have worked day and night for this application cycle and quite a few have UW as their #1 choice yet still have been rejected with much higher stats. Infinite amount of time and money has been invested in this cycle. You can't possibly say these people deserve to see a thread like this and feel dandy fine.

Let's face it - we are going to be managing peoples' dental health here. As a currently practicing dental care provider, I will tell you right here right now that there's no room for one to be short sighted and and total disregard of consequences when it comes to patient care and amongst colleagues. Bereno, you should know this as well, as a dental student. This "oops I wasn't thinking straight" type of indiscretion can land you in some serious lawsuits in the clinic and in life in general. I know this is just a post but I hope that RSalha can take this as a learning experience.

It may seem like I'm blowing things out of proportions, but as someone whose lab work had been sabotaged in a rather competitive program, I know what it's like to have people after you. Especially when scholarships and grants are up for grabs.

Give me a break. Sometimes it is okay to just keep your thoughts to yourself.

Click the ignore button. You don't have to read any of my posts 🙂

I just think it would be appreciated by everyone if you would just spare us all the "holier than thou, I am a hygienist with infinite wisdom" talk because we don't care. I am not the only one. I have chosen to ignore the majority of what you write, but thought I would be courteous and get you clued up.
