Way too damn late. 16th batch (October 12).
How come you applied so late? did you take your DAT late or something?
AND does anyone know if there is a school specific acceptance/rejection thread for UW? I havent seen one?
I took my DAT on 9/4 and started applying right after that. It took me a couple weeks to get my personal statement to where I wanted it, and another 2-3 weeks went by before my grades were verified. Waiting sucks.
There isn't a UW thread yet. I honestly don't feel that they'll be as useful until Dec 3rd comes around but create one if you like.

Thank you very much for the kind words. I've been pretty stressed lately with family stuff so this was much needed and kind of reminds you that nothing can get in your way as long as you have the passion to reach your goals.

Although I am Arabic, I am still considered White/Caucasion and that is what is listed on my AADSAS application. Isn't it funny how you can be "pretty sure" about something yet still be completely wrong?

Loupe, they are already into December. I was offered two different dates to interview, either Monday 12/17, or Monday 1/14/13.

Because I am burned out of mean people. No one can ever look at the positive of things, it's always " well there is a catch". Sorry if I got out of hand, but good people shouldn't be walked over. Minority or not the dude got another interview, that's awesome and should be admired not put down. Just my 2 cents. Mean people suck. Plus Obama is my president for another 4 years... Lol lol
That is exactly what I am trying to do, thank you for recognizing that. I am just saying that we are all in this together and it is hard sometimes for SDNers because a lot of people get hung up on stats. I am just trying to show that stats don't mean everything, because obviously I don't have, "the stats," yet I am still getting noticed. Others should stay positive because even if they don't have the stats, they still have a great chance at getting into school.
I agree with you, tons of us are frustrated right now with our application or number of interviews, but this doesn't mean we need to be rude to each other or treat each other poorly. Be happy when other people do well, and be happier when you do well. That is my philosophy.

dave, rsalha chose to create a thread called "whoooooo hooooo". when you do things like that, you're going out of your way to expose yourself....and you will get criticism. there's a thread specifically for that: the official interview/acceptance thread. just sayin'.

On the other hand, I'm probably an exception. When you gloat like this, you should expect the audience to bumrush you.For the other people who are pissed off, consider this: Just because Rsalha received his interviews doesn't mean he'll gain an acceptance from any of those places, especially with his mediocre stats. Even UW accepts only ~40% of the people it interviews. Wait until the cycle is over and you can rub those interviews in his face. Or better yet, you might get acceptances and you won't care about what happens to some random stranger who likes to show off.

There's already a interview/acceptance thread. I don't see the point of posting these types of thread just to take up more space at all. Even though I'm not fond of people saying mean things, I'm just going to play devil's advocate here - you should've seen this coming when you use such a boasting title during this incredibly stressful time for everyone. Some view it as quite the distasteful thing. If you send out a mass email to all your classmates about what a good grade you got, you're going to be hated and criticized. There's nothing to "get" about this.
You both are absolutely correct, and my intentions were not to showboat or to gloat. The way I see things, I am happy for anyone else that gets an interview regardless of whether I have one or not, and regardless of what their grades or stats are, because I know how tough it is to go through this whole process and how rewarding it is getting even one interview. I have kept up with a lot of interview acceptances from others on SDN, and know that a few others have kept up with mine. They knew how much it meant to me getting an interview from UW, so my intentions were to inform those people, not be a jerk and rub it in others' face who don't have interviews.
However, I absolutely understand why someone would take this as bragging or gloating. Please understand and genuinely believe that those were not my intentions, and I apologize if I came across that way.

Yes, it was short sighted of RSalha17 to make the thread considering there is already another thread for interviews/rejections. However, I'm sure many of you can relate to being really stressed this time of year. So when your #1 school grants you an interview, it is understandable that you are "on top of the world" and post a thread about it. RSalha17 was probably too caught up in his excitement to really think about it... Give him a break 👍🙂
Also, I don't think he should have seen this coming. There is no excuse for the berating and/or condescending words posted above, regardless of the thread title. Should he have expected some people to be jealous, or argue the point of the thread? Yes. Should he have expected to be insulted? No.
