I have wedding this weekend and was planning to leave town tomorrow around 2pm to make it to rehearsal dinner etc etc

My RXM and i flopped weekends but then tuesday she told me she cant cover friday anymore ( tried to get time off months ago, it was denied) I am scheduled 9-9 and the scheduler is trying to find someone to cover 1PM - 9PM

I really dont want to miss this as it is a good friends wedding. Its not the end of the world if i have to go sataurday instead but once again i feel like i shouldnt feel this guilt for wanting time off work

I would tell the RXM that they need to arrange coverage then as you've already planned to be out of town and will not be available to work the shift.

I am an RXM and would never go back on a shift swap last minute like that and if I had to for some reason I would absolutely feel responsible for finding the coverage.

RXM will be working or has to find coverage for him or herself. You are on vacation on Friday. You left town Thursday night for all I know.

As soon as she agreed to the switch, it became her responsibility to find the replacement once she backed out.

I would just contact your dm tell him you guys agreed on the switch and depending on the type of person he is the responsibility should go on the rxm especially if you told the scheduler about the switch. If you allow yourself to be run over by the rxm she will only continue to do it.

Unfortunately you should have done this tuesday not the day before. If the schedule shows you working you will be the one in trouble.
