You did not 'flunk' first year, you just didn't do as well as you did D2 year.

do well on the CBSE, get some good recs/externships. 4 pubs is already great.

Im not in OMFS, but I think you can definitely still get in. a good CBSE will trump any of your first year things.

There is no reason you can't pursue OMFS. I agree with above, you didn't flunk D1...so don't be so hard on yourself. Keep up the grind! Good luck and don't ever sell yourself short.

Even if you don’t get in from school, you do a non-cat year. Maybe even two. Like you said, you can’t imagine doing anything else.

Just don’t say anything about flunking your d1 year during your interviews cause then they will think you are crazy. Good luck!
