Put it out of your mind. I've never heard anyone question an applicant's club hours and I've been at this for over 25 years. Underestimating volunteer hours is not going to hurt you, so don't worry about that. I've never heard of anyone verifying an applicant's club involvement to the point of contacting a person listed as a reference.

Don't worry about any of this. Your advisor is blowing things out of proportion.
