Did it? I don't think so. I don't recall seeing anything that looked familiar. It is possible since one of our attendings writes a lot of the AP questions. What was the general subject area? GI?

Anyone spot the CP question picture that was straight from the CDC's webpage?

Guy vists So Cal ,and you get his gram stain.

CDC's webpage on the organism is the SAME image, only better quality.

Since I haven't done Micro, I was essentially relying on what I learnt on my Steps to answer those questions.

I was curious as to what undergrad psych and med school psychiatry was doing on the exam. Management skills and forensics??

Yeah, I wondered that too. I guess "special topics" is kind of an open season.

I thought the AP questions were a lot more straightforward this year - last year there were a lot of questions that asked you what syndrome or translocation was associated with the pictured lesion.

I heard there was a lot of cytology on the AP portion of the RISE this year...that's what I heard from the grapevine. And most of the cyto wasn't just Paps either.

There always is. And the thing is, it seems like there is way more because it is the first few questions. So by the time you finish them all you feel like you have been answering cyto questions for a year.

Last year's rise, I hadn't had cyto yet. So I basically just went with gestalt and guessed benign if I had no idea. And my cyto score was like at the level of a 4th year resident.
