do you think it would be a disadvantage to do a regional interview instead of going to the school? i live in wisconsin and would rather not have to fly out to the east coast again, but i don't want to interview with someone out here if its going to hurt my chances...ie they won't be present at the adcom meetings, etc. i dont care about seeing yale because if i do get in i can always fly out later for a look...right now im just worried about missing more work and paying for like my fifth trip out east. please give me opinions!

thanks

If you live in WI, it will not hurt your chances. Duke says "those who do regional interviews have as good of a chance, and usually better, of being admitted." Yale has the same attitude. They will understand; however, that being said, be prepared to answer the question "why did you do a regional interview" in your interview in WI. Have a better answer prepared than "I don't like flying to the East Coast." They may ask you how you know you want to go to Yale if you haven't seen the school...
