Re: Yale Supplemental Application & Technical Problems with AMCAS 2002

We are writing to AMCAS applicants who have indicated their intention to
apply to the Yale University School of Medicine. We would like to
invite you to visit our web site to learn more about Yale and to submit
your Yale Supplemental Application on line at http://info.med.yale.edu/medadmit. You may submit the Supplemental
Application at any time, either before or after submitting your AMCAS
application. We do not ?screen? AMCAS applications.

We are also writing to bring to your attention our ?Transition
Procedures,? which have been developed in response to technical problems
with the AMCAS 2002 application. By sending us a printed copy of your
AMCAS application (and unofficial copies of your MCAT scores and
college transcript) and submitting your Yale Supplemental Application on
line, you will enable us to avoid long start-up delays and move ahead
with the evaluation process before we receive an official transmission
from AMCAS. Detailed instructions for these Transition Procedures will
be found in our on-line Supplemental Application at http://medapps05.med.yale.edu/ows-msa/Transition.htm.

Please note that applicants who choose to expedite the Yale admissions
process via these Transition Procedures must also submit their on-line
AMCAS application. Initial evaluations and (if AMCAS transmission
delays persist into the fall) even interview invitations can be based on
the unofficial documents that you send to us, but final decisions will
not be made until official AMCAS applications have been received.

Our deadlines are October 15 for the AMCAS application and November 15
for the Yale Supplemental Application. All other application material,
including letters of recommendation, must also be sent by November 15.
Late applications will not be considered, and it is in your best
interest to apply as early as possible.

This is an exciting time in the history of medicine and an exciting time
to be at Yale, where you will find a commitment to excellence that
defines everything we do and establishes this School as a national and
international leader in research, education, and patient care. Through
our admissions process, we are seeking to enroll a talented and diverse
class of students from every segment of modern society ? men and women
who have the maturity, intelligence, energy, and compassion to grow into
the kind of physician-leaders we strive to educate. Thank you for
applying to the Yale University School of Medicine. We look forward to
receiving your completed application. Please let us know if you have
questions.

hmm... got this quite a while ago, but thanks anyway. Let's keep this up (of sharing info via SDN)!

I also got this a while ago, but many people probably didn't. Keep sharing stuff like this, please. :)

Elsupremo, did you submit recently? I submitted the first week; I don't remember when I got this, but it wasn't lately.

Smoke This,
I submitted on July 13. The email was kinda redundant since i already knew they had an online secondary, but I just got the email yesterday (aug. 3rd)
