This is a pretty tragic story

I used to work for this newspaper when I was 20 or so. The writing is terrible because it's translated by non-native English speakers from Arabic (except when I worked there, my articles were in good English... they were still crap articles though).

By the way, that last line she writes about being in chains probably sounds a little bit exaggerated to you guys, but that's actually the standard practice in Yemen. You often see acutely psychotic people in the streets with chains all over them. The chains are pretty much there to keep them from being able to do too much damage by keeping them from being able to move around very quickly.

As a matter of fact, it's exactly this sort of thing that's made me want to become a psychiatrist...
