so i'm looking at umass and lahey for categorical medicine as you saw from the thread i started. in lahey's favor i liked its location a lot, facilities were also very nice. my interview day there was a student from tufts there applying for prelim who said they work pretty hard there but that they still had a life outside the hospital. in umass's favor i really liked their ward admissions system where you get 1-2 new patients every day rather than have no patients before call and getting slammed on call. i was not in love with worcester but think it could be pretty liveable. other than these differences i felt like they were pretty equal in other respects. residents (categoricals) looked pretty happy at both programs. sorry i don't have more input, i'm writing this from a computer in clinic so this is off the top of my head. hope this is useful in some way.
