U of Pitt or UMN for early decision.

Where did you actually apply to?
WOW~ 😱

Yes, I was told that I was accepted although I wasn't officially supposed to be notified until next month. I'm grateful because I was considering retaking my DAT.

I applied to U of MS, my state school.

ADA won't be too happy if they found out schools are giving out acceptances before Dec. 1st.

I dont think schools will go against ADA. I am pretty sure it is allowed (may be only to a few selected instate applicants) and many state schools notifiy earlier via phone calls.

The phone call is official, it is just that its not on their official paper.

According to a dean of a dental school, he said if we ever found out that a d.school has given an acceptance before Dec. 1st to report it to him to be reported to ADA.

I'm sure a lot of schools pick some of the people that they want to accept well before December 1st. And I haven't received my package yet so I'm sure the ADA will be just fine with it. Don't hate...congratulate. Good luck to you too.

Congrats! 🙂

Offers are made to applicants with the highest priority scores consistent with AADSAS notification date guidelines. Connecticut residents reviewed prior to December 1 may qualify for early decision.

Thats straight from the UConn's SDM website. I dont think they will even have it up there openly if it would be this of a big deal. So, just relax, you will get in to your top choice too. As Simply said, dont hate him for that😛

Congrats man...it must be a relief.

.

That means you must be anxious to hear from UConn right now, huh?
Good luck, buddy! :luck:

I'm not hating on you Simply_Unique, it must feel great to be relieved. I'm just shocked a d.school would notify applicants of acceptances before Dec. 1.

By agreement among dental schools, acceptances will not be issued before December 1st of the year proceeding the year of anticipated entry.

the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) recommends that dental schools do not notify applicants either orally or in writing of provisional or final acceptance before December 1 of the academic year prior to the year of matriculation

December 1 is the earliest you can be notified about your acceptance

Applicants are notified of their selection status as soon as possible after their interview date, but not prior to December 1 of the year preceding matriculation which is the earliest date the US and Canadian dental schools have agreed to extend offers for a position in the class.

That's straight from UDMercy, UCSF, Case Western, UTenn, UPitt, Harvard, Oklahoma, WVU, UF, Midwestern, UNC, LSU, Nebraska and VCU.

They arent giving out acceptance to all the applicants. This early notification is only for very very few selected instate applicants.
