Need some opinions!!

Took the DAT in April and got:

AA: 18
TS: 18
Bio: 19
GC: 18
OC: 16
RC: 21
QR: 14...........Freaked myself out about seeing my score in a few minutes.
PAT: 19

Took the DAT again on August 11 and got:

AA: 21
TS: 21
Bio: 20
GC: 20
OC: 22
RC: 23
QR: 18
PAT: 21

3.54 sGPA and 3.7 oGPA

90 hours of observation with a dentist and 42 hours of observation with a physician on the Iowa university medical school faculty (also have a letter from each as well as my advisor, who is also my professor, and the president of the university).

300 hours in a paid research assistant position

200+ hours of volunteering/ community service

Received a national leadership scholarship among other local scholarships/ awards

I'm from Iowa and want to go to Iowa or Creighton.

Any opinions would be a big help. Thanks!!

looks fine to me. you're in-state, so your stats don't need to be as stellar.. But they are competitive enough for iowa. Creighton may or may not look at you... not because your stats are bad, just because they don't make sense in my opinion. Iowa should be fairly easy to get in for you. good luck

It's probably worth noting that the dentist who I observed for 90 hours and got a letter from graduated from Creighton undergrad and dental school and taught at the dental school for a few years after graduating before entering the military as a general dentist.

He may have some influence, but you're not a traditional legacy dental student (not family) so I don't know how much that will help you. Either way, iowa is much better.. haha, but i'm biased. Creighton wouldn't even look at my app.
