I had to use my chemistry set for heat fuel, so tell me..

in a cyclohexane, when 2 substituents are right next to eachother (eg on positions 1 and 2) and they are cis, when they go to a chair conformation, are they both equatorial or is one axial and one equatorial?

Pretty sure cis will be on different sides (1 equat and one axial) but just wanna make sure

one is axial the other equatorial....but they will both face either up or down...not one down and the other up..hope that helps
