Sorry about the stupid title. Anyways, it's coming time to choose classes for next semester and I had a quick question for you. As a micro major I am not required to take biochemistry but I am going to. My options for next semester semester are;

(a) Elementary Biochemistry (1 semester) - Heard it was extremely easy.

and

(b) General Biochemistry 1 (with an option of taking General Biochem 2) - For biochemistry majors, assuming it's much more difficult.

Biochemistry is becoming required by more and more schools, therefor I am a little hesitant to take an almost pre-req that has the title "elementary" in front of it. What should I do; suck it up and take the regular general biochemistry or go for the easier A? Is the word "elementary" going to be that detrimental in the eyes of the admission committees?

Elementary shouldn't be an issue, but normal biochem wasn't horribly tough. What's the biochem I like? Mine was protein structure and things of that nature where biochem two was metabolism.

Thanks Bacchus for the quick reply. Yeah, I think biochem 1 is general protein structure and what not. I think I am going to go with that series; never thought I would say this but I am starting to like biochemistry (through my experience in molecular biology). This way if I have an extra spot in my schedule I can elect to take biochem 2.

Biochem was an enjoyable class for me. However, I'm in my last class of the series and there is only so much one can take when being subjected to 15 weeks of nucleic acid information. 😎

man, I was expecting your post to be filled with bad grammar and a lame question. There goes my entertainment.

Whew... this title reminded me of a ridiculous poster a few months ago (gabe?) that went on a huge rant laced with horrible grammar points that made everyone about :boom:. It was pretty funny though.

To answer the OP's question - I have no idea, I never took biochem 😎. Personally I'd probably take the easier one...

EDIT: 500, yay!
