I am filing out some applications and want a good resource that goes into depth about the history and princples. Something say 20-30 pages. I simpy don't have time to read a book on the profession. Anyone have any favorites?

...nor do you need a book. All the sources I've found tend to iterate the same characteristics. Here's a website written by a DO: http://www.mercola.com/2003/mar/26/osteopathy.htm. the website has some technicalities that you needn't get bogged down with. I think the DO does a great job of going through the important DO points. Hope this helps.

Also: I don't know what schools you're applying to, but I know that TUCOM's school booklet (online as a PDF) has short paragraphs elucidating history and philosophy of Osteopathic Medicine. So check out www.tumi.edu. Good luck.
