I don't think that having a top school is a great way to approach this process. Most of us are applying to a bunch of school in an endevour not unlike a crapshoot. There are a raft of great schools I would be ecstatic to get into. And the reality is that at this point, who knows what the *best* school for me would turn out to be, so much of the experience in medical school is based on personal relationships and so forth. My two cents.
