The prompt specifically asks for "a creative endeavor" that requires you to be creative in your approach. In college, my fraternity competed in "Greek Sing" where we organized a 5-6 minute skit and performed in front of a large audience. The video is on Youtube, and since this is what I am writing about in my essay, I was wondering if it would be okay to post a link to the video at the bottom.

It's a really good video and I feel that no amount of writing will do it justice. It also only takes up 1 word out of my 150 word count limit...

It's all about how and why the creative endeavor impacted you, so you're better off just writing about it.

I composed and recorded an album of music and was still told en masse not to link to it.

Isn't that the goal of this whole process, trying to find ways to stand out from the rest of the pack? I understand your point. I see it as a double-edged sword because I think this is the perfect way to stand out, even if I risk looking "unprofessional".

Why are you asking for advice if you're not gonna listen to any of it and are adamant about doing it anyways? Yeah the goal is to stand out but in a way that's appealing to adcoms, not in a way that is appealing to a group of frat boys. I guess it doesn't matter since you're gonna ignore the advice anyways😕

It's like show and tell. Please don't do it. You stand out by having a great app.

Yeah I'm sure if I had said it was my choir group, you would be singing a different tune. I also said I understand the point, so don't sit there and make generalizations you know nothing about.

Got it, thanks.

would it be inappropriate to list such links in the decription section under under activities, or still too risky?

just curious

I've never seen one of these links help the candidate.
It tends to make the committee member feel as if they are being "held hostage" since they are compelled to watch as part of their due diligence.

The link isn't necessary. You can list it if it's important and shows something of substance. The actual product isn't as important as what you gained from the experience or the effect it had. They don't need to watch the video to know these things.
