zero acceptance

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Doesn't that depend on when you sent in your applications and how many schools you applied to? Obviously, if you had all your stuff sent out by July and applied to 15+ schools, there's a good chance you'll have an acceptance by now. If you took the August MCAT, most likely you're just starting the interview process.

still too early to think about that....

come feb. is when i would start lifting a brow...

but like alex99 said...

depends on how many you applied....

when you took your mcat....

are your schools non rolling or rolling...

and the quality of your application...

that being said...good luck and i hope you get in.

With Apil MCAT, so-s0 stats and sept/oct secondaries, maybe it is a little too soon for me to raise a brow I guess I've become somewhat anxious since receiving some rejection letters without an acceptance.

I don't think April MCAT says anything. Now is really not the time to flip over acceptances...if you are flipping now, what will you do when April comes?
Relax and enjoy the burn.

Relax. It's too early to worry about it.

Too early unless you have heard back from all the schools you have applied to. My friend interviewed at MCV in April and was accepted within 2 weeks of that date. Late but it can happen.

Wait till spring and then start to worry.

How 'bout a 3.8, 33, 2 types of research, 2 types of volunteer, and mid-june primary app submission? Only 2 interviews so far (1 complete, 1 in feb.) , no acceptance yet. (This is killing me because I am very good at interviews!!!)

How many schools and what kind of schools did you apply to?

17 schools, some top notch (Stanford, Cornell, UCLA etc.) some middle (UCI, UCD, PSU), some lower (Don't want to offend anyone)-- Basically a bell curve of schools.

you are also quite humble

I wouldn't worry at this point, although I do agree that it is frustrating. The whole process stinks cause it really wears down your patience. Trust me, I know.. I didn't get my first acceptance until the end of may last year; and i didn't get the acceptance from the school i had set my eye on at that point til the end of june. 🙂

I am in the saaaaaaaaaaaaame boat, except I'm awful at interviews.

There's your problem. You think UCI and UCD are in the middle. I bet your lower schools are UCSD and UCSF.

You're not going to have too much luck when your standards are too high. In this game, nothing is for sure.

So for you ehd, I'd begin to worry.

As harsh as it may sound, i agree with Slickness. I think you made a mistake by defining top, middle, lower schools based on the rankings of some sort, because they can be deceiving sometimes. I got interviews at some of the "top" schools, but I was put on pre-interview hold at UCI, UCSD... and also... UCSF (damn!!).

But I totally understand your frustration though... man... hope you get more interviews pretty soon, ehd.

Middle is always a relative term. Compared to UCSF, for example, UCI falls in the middle (based on funding, reputation, match, etc.). BTW: you have knowledge of only 1% of my app, so don't assume my standards are too high.

dont forget guys, he's an excellent interviewer

thanks kwanny, hope you get your UCSF interview for an early Christmas present.

Thanks for the sarcasm exmike, you've done well for yourself on this thread.

True. I guess I was a bit harsh. I'm sure you're a really good interviewee and I'm not being sarcastic.

I put up a poll regarding this topic. You'll see that you are definitely not the only one in this situtation. Also, at my interview yesterday, I was told by the adcom that it is still considered the early part of the decision making process. Don't lose hope!

Well said. I think i should have omitted the 'good at interviews' part--kinda set myself up for that one!

thank asama, I'll take a look at that thread. BTW was it NYMC or Drexel that said it is early in the admissions process. I've applied to both but haven't heard anything since my application has been completed. So it would be good to know that either school feels that way.
Good luck on gaining acceptance

UIC said it was early in the admissions process. I interviewed at NYMC and Drexel about 5 days ago. Drexel said it was about mid-way and NYMC said it was early to mid-way
