Hello All, here's my condensed summary:

NYS Resident
Gaduated: Stony Brook University (December 2011)
Majors: Psychology (B.S.), Philosophy (B.A.), Biology (minor)
cGPA: 3.57 (post graduation) 3.65 (After applying Post bacc courses)
sGPA: 3.25 (Post Graduation) 3.45 (After applying Post Bacc courses)
MCAT: PS: 10 BS: 10 VR: 11 Total: 31

Note: post Bacc courses include Genetics, A&P, Microbio, Orgo Lab, Biochemistry (All A's except Genetics (A-), taken at public, non community-college Uni's)

EC's:

- Volunteer Adaptive Aquatics Instructor- worked with disabled children and adults (200 hours over 5 semesters)
- Volunteered sparsely between 3 different hospuitals (Stony Brook Medical 52hrs, Maimonides Hosp 152 hrs, HSS 200hrs)
-Volunteer EMT (April 2013-present)
- Over 1000 hours as a Physical Therapist Aide
- Worked the front desk in a private orthopedic practice where I got to shadow Ortho's in the OR
- Patient Care Assistant at a world renown specialty hospital (November 2013-Current)

Research:

- Spent a semester as an RA in a psych lab, no pubs (Though I can speak articulately about the project)

Current Plan:

-Looking for a Clinical Research gig and trying to take some more post-bacc courses to boost sGPA (Pathophys, Cell Bio ect.)

Sent in my primary's July 8th- hoping to Matric Summer of 2015. Applied to 30 MD's and 6 DO's...Overkill?

You should be fine for the DO schools and should receive some interviews. At least 20 of your MD schools are reasonable for your stats. You have a few reaches-Duke, Brown, Emory. Cooper, Michigan State and the Florida state schools take few OOS applicants with your MCAT but it is OK to have some reach schools.

Highly appreciated Faha and Goro! Any thoughts on whether additional course work or research will bear any weight on the decision making process at this point in time? Regardless, I will continue to puff up my record in anticipation of possible disappointment.
