Cannot comment on MPH.
You need to get some clinical volunteering in the states.

Thanks! Between research and other EC's, it doesn't look like I'll have much time for that during the semester. Would hospital volunteering during this summer count?
You need to do it before you submit your application because you currently have 0 hour. Are you considering taking a gap year?

It's a consideration--I was thinking about taking a year off to boost my GPA/do more research, but I hadn't thought that my lack of clinical experience in the US would be the driving factor. If I managed to get in ~100 hours before the application in June, and then continued throughout the summer, would that not be considered by the time I interviewed?
If you have the whole summer for it, it should be sufficient.

If you're a NY resident SUNY schools have low in-state tuition. I know SUNY Upstate has an MD/MPH program now.
