MD & DO 3.8cGPA, 3.5sGPA, MCAT Pending - URM - +School List

Hi Everyone! I've been a long time viewer of the threads and recently signed-up to start discussing. I am applying this cycle for both MD and DO (only 3 DO schools maybe more??). Little bit of my background. I have my BS in Biology, currently at the end-stage of MS in Cell/Developmental Biology. I have a 3.5sGPA, 3.8cGPA, and my MCAT score is pending. My practice tests have been ranging (27-31) AAMC/Kaplan. I know my stats aren't great but definitely improved over my Junior year of UG up until now. I am Diné(Navajo) and Zuni Pueblo, so URM.

EC's are okay (I think). Mixture of UG and Grad School

• ED Scribe - ~2 years, Head Scribe since January
• Shadowing - 2+years with Internist and ~10hrs Podiatrist (not a lot there)
• Volunteer - teaching at Internists' private school - health/bio related topics
• UG Pre-Health Club - Active member every semester, Officer for 1 academic year
  • various volunteering activities here
• Teaching - Anatomy Lab and Intro Bio Lab
  • Won Departmental Award for Teaching
  • Graduate School Award for Graduate Assistantship
• Scholarships from American Indian Services - partially covered tuition every year
• Travel Grant for Research Conferences
• AAIP and Mayo Clinic Spirit of EAGLES Travel Scholarships
  • Conferences centered around Rural Medicine and Medicine within Native Communities =)
• Research - Cell & Organismal Track - Developmental Genetics Concentration
  • All things Graduate - lab, thesis, presentations etc ( IDK if this is considered EC?)

I think that's it. Just got off a shift in the ED, worked 12 hours today so brain is fried.

I know my MCAT score will be reported later this summer. Which would be considered late by everyones standards but oh well. I will be submitting my AMCAS this week after some input from others.
