Older than 6 months, but under a year? Specifically in Florida.

I believe state level it's 1 year and federally it never expires. Is this correct?

And what happens if a pharmacist refuses to fill such a prescription? Can the patient do anything about it? Like report the pharmacist etc. ?

You can refuse any rx for any reason. I can't speak for FL about expiration, as my state they are only valid for 1 month.

I have turned down rx that weren't even that old, however. If you went to an ER due to pain, and the MD gave you a 3 day supply of pain meds, why did you wait 22 days to fill the rx? If you call the ER or urgent care, they will usually tell you "no, please void that rx" since it's been so long since they evaluated the patient.

They are 'valid' for one year in FL, but there was a case where a pharmacist was found to be negligent when a patient died from fentanyl overdose where the script was > 6 months old.
