hello,
i don't know if this topic is discussed as I can't seem to find it out anywhere.
MWU-Glendale estimate the housing to be 12k a year but some local townhouse (2 bedrooms 1.5 bathrooms) is worth only 60-80k of value. Including some associated fees, monthly mortage payment is around 400$-500$ with a 20% down payment (15-16k) for 30 year fixed.
these houses are only 3-4 blocks from the university itself.
Question 1:
will it be more logical (if you can come up with down payment) to actually buy a small house to live for 4 years, may be live there later to practice, than renting with the same amount of money (i dont think renting in arizona is lower than 300$ for a room)
Question 2:
since dental schools issue merit-based scholarship but not much financial aid based on needs, will owning a small house tremendously affect one's ability to secure those funds?
