I'm going to be doing a 4th-year rotation in pediatric emergency medicine, and was wondering what the good books (for a 4th year medical student) are. The ideal solution would be a blueprints-like textbook combined with a pocket-sized handbook for rapid access.

So far, I've found:

I'd be interested in hearing opinions on this as a resident. I haven't found a great peds review book yet and I don't feel all that competent in my ped's knowledge yet

Anyone have any recommendations besides tintanelli/rosen's?

I'll be doing a peds EM rotation early in the year as well. I haven't seen more than a few kids in the past year, so it should be interesting.

I recently ordered the Rivers review book (haven't received it yet). If the peds section looks good, I'll probably just try to read that before I start the month.

Now, there is a little pediatric EM pocketbook that is similar to the pocket tintinalli. I would say that for a one month rotation, go with either a quick peds book ala blueprints, or just know the peds section of tintinalli or rosen's cold and that should be plenty for a month.

age+16 / 4 ; some literature supports length based sizes...
