Does anyone have any insight into why there are so few BOP internship sites relative to the number of BOP locations nationwide? One would think there would be more of a push to create more, given the demand for psychologists in prisons. I know one in Pennsylvania was recently added. Are there added obstacles to creating a training program and getting accreditation in a correctional setting?

trainees/training programs cost money. Its easier to sell congress on funds for treating veterans as opposed to criminals.
