Are there any medical schools in England that will take students from the US right after highschool? What are some of the top medical schools in Europe that will take US students without an undergrad degree?

Top European medical schools are just dying for US students without an undergrad degree.

Secondary education in the Europe (generally speaking) is far more intensive than US secondary education. European students with leaving certificates, maturity exams, etc... are better prepared for medical school in their home countries than US students without undergrad degrees. European medical school admission (or promotion) standards (again, generally speaking) are highly competitive for natives.

That being said, there are ways to attend medical schools in Europe with 'only' a high school degree. However, unless you are fluent in a language other than English, your options are limited to English speaking countries (UK, Ireland) or English language programs elsewhere (Central and Eastern Europe).

Before you further consider attending any of those programs, I recommend that you consider the following quesitons.

1) Where do you want to practice medicine?
2) What kind of medicine do you see yourself practicing?
3) How do you plan on financing your medical education?

Answers to these questions are key to finding a school that will help you achieve your goals.

I would find it very unlikely that an American straight out of high school would be able to get into a Brit medical school. The brits have very little respect for US high school qualifications. For example, when my mum moved to England with 2 years of American university under her belt, she spoke to a couple of brit universities about continuing her education. Their response was that they did not recognise any of her university work and if she wanted to go to a Brit university she would have to go back to brit high school and take A levels.

Plus, living expenses are much more in England than the US. Not to mention, unless you are a British citizen you would have to pay foreign tuition rates.
