You know the drill...what are my chances?

American D.O., top quartile of class, no academic/disciplinary issues.

Some research, good letters.

Comlex 1 = 715, Comlex 2 = 800, no USMLE

Not from California but would like to match into family medicine there

Not to question your Vulcan logic...but even for residency in California?

You'll be fine. Some of the programs require/strongly recommend USMLE, but they are in very small minority, and there's like 40-some FM programs in CA. Chances you'll match are very high as long as you don't only apply to like 5 places or something.

Isn't an 800 on COMLEX a perfect score?
No one knows what's a perfect score on COMLEX. I've heard people say 838 while others say 999. However, I know for a fact that 800 isn't the max you can get on COMLEX.
