I went to medical school at Rutgers RWJ and had a great match last year (as did the other two neuro applicants last year). I think the overall program is very good, but it has its pros and cons. As far as pros, I think that the faculty are very good. Dr. Jalbut, the chair of the department is well known in the field and is supportive. The hospital itself is great, with great ancillary support, and a good mix of patients. Cons: a little weaker on the research side (I didn't see many residents actively get excited about or pursue research) and some of the residents did appear overworked during my third year clerkship. New Brunswick is a nice college town, but can be boring. Affordable as far as cost of living goes. NYC is an hour away by train, Jersey City is 40mins away and Philly is about 2 hours away. Would definitely recommend checking it out to interview if you have one.
