Can I open a private practice with only a Masters degree in psych

Hello:

I am planning on going back to school to study psychology. Just not sure if I should do my psyD or just get my masters. I plan is opening my own practice. Can I do that with a Masters degree. Will a masters degree limit me in any way in regards to opening my own practice.

You need a degree (MA, MS) that makes you eligible for licensure (LMHC, MSW, LPC, etc). You also need to decide if you can or will accept insurance. The state licensing board will dictate much of this, so Google your state licensing board and see what kind of requirements they have to provide individual therapy in your state.
