Well the French customarily go with Champagne.what are we supposed to do now?
Pros: Internationally recognized as classy. Who doesn't like bubbles in their liquid? Looks good in a flute. Carbonation actually makes the alcohol hit your blood stream quicker.
Cons: Can be pretty pricey. Everyone seems to find a glass in their hands when you pop a bottle. Doesn't linger on the palette like some other options. Must be chilled to enjoy.
If you're more of a Kentuckian, I'd recommend a glass of Bourbon, ice is optional. Try Noah's Mill if you want to support small distilleries and appreciate cask strength or Buffalo Trace if you want to follow the crowds and have a pour for under 2 bucks.
Pros: Aroma is intoxicating. Vanilla and caramel notes bounce of the tongue but leave way for complexity on the backend. No refrigeration needed.
Cons: Straight spirits can be off-putting to some. Can get carried away in celebration if you reflexively put a glass to your mouth to fill awkward silence.
