Extracurriculars: President of my school's Pre-Optometry Club, 400+ hours shadowing, was an intern and Optometric Technician at two different Optometry practices, worked at an Ophthalmology private practice, volunteer work, other jobs...basically I think the experience was what made me a competitive applicant.

I am an unusual applicant because I was invited for two interviews before retaking my OAT so that is why I was wait listed at those and accepted at NOVA & Midwestern because it was after my OAT retake. Waiting to hear back from everyone else!

Mkbarnes, if I had to guess, I would say you will have a good chance at getting accepted into UIWRSO with updated statistics. I was accepted there with similar statistics, and I decided not to fill out the secondary application to Nova (Because I didn't know if I could justify the cost of attending the interview). Which school did you like better? I'm just wondering if I should try to get an interview there and check it out.

SUNY is still accepting students. Mr. Brick told me that they interview as late as March, but the chances of getting in by then are very slim. It has happened though.

Definitely agree with jwilso88. You also have to consider that some schools are more competitive than others, so their seats probably get filled sooner. I suggest maybe calling the schools you're interested in to get a better idea.

Oh yeah will definitely put in a couple of months a year at least to head back there or other impoverished regions. 6 more months! Pretty excited! :cool:

OAT: 310
GPA: 3.33

Do you guys think I have a chance for getting into any Californian school? My preference is WesternU
Are you applying this cycle or asking for next year's cycle (which would make you class of 2019)?
