I mentioned my job because it's made me want to go to medical school. However, I don't want the med school to contact my employer, as I did not tell my employer about applying to med school. I worry that I might lose my job if my employer finds out.

So: is it okay to tell the med school to NOT contact my employer? Thanks

I listed my current job with all my boss's contact info on AMCAS. AACOMAS lets you list your jobs but you don't list any address or phone numbers - there aren't fields on the form for that.

No school ever contacted my boss. And I wouldn't have cared because she and two physicians in my department all wrote LORs for me so they all knew I was applying. I really, really do not think admissions committees have time to contact anyone's job. It certainly isn't standard practice for adcoms to contact your employer. I wouldn't worry about it and I wouldn't say anything to the schools.
