I have been with my current employer for about ~2 years, and do not plan on quitting unless I get in next cycle. Although I am working in a clinical role, my direct supervisor has not really seen me interact with patients. Would it be strange not to receive a LOR from my employer? I have 2 science, 1 non-science, 1 clinical letter from a different clinical activity, and a volunteer letter. I'm also hesitant to ask because I don't really want to disclose that I am applying to medical school.
Alternatively, I can get a letter from someone who works in a different department, who has seen me work with patients. They aren't my supervisor, although they are in a somewhat supervisory role. Could this also work?
I guess I'm just worried about if adcoms would see it as a red flag if I don't have an employer letter.
