I will be starting optometry school at UAB in Fall 2024. I currently use a Microsoft Surface Pro in undergrad. Would I be okay by using this device in optom. school or should I consider getting an iPad? I really like my Surface Pro and still have a lot of storage available on it. One negative that I do have are the apps available to Microsoft users. If anyone has any app recommendations for note taking, etc., please share them! Any and all advice is appreciated!

Have you contacted the school about the IT requirements? I don't know what software you will need to load to take exams or view images/scans, but you should be able to find out. Usually this item is part of your cost of attendance calculation based on what financial aid determines is the minimally acceptable computer.
