I am in a dilemma about taking NP/PA students cos on one hand I don’t want to help advance the notion that they are just as good or have same knowledge base etc, while on the other hand during shadowing/rotations I actively show them how little they know by asking questions about the disease process or how a medication works etc…

I know I am deluding myself into thinking that they will get a dose of reality and then be more humble about what they know, but likely once they get their degree its back to “I know just as much as the doc” 🤦‍♂️

I liked the one comment that talked about how they could Rx in 5 states and docs in one…. Its definitely NOT cos our licensing requirements are so onerous or that we can’t job hop so easily cos credentialing takes 3 months …!!!
