165 hours volunteering in ER
250 hours volunteering in nursing home
Currently working full time as a lab aide at a dermatopathology lab
25 MCAT (6VR 8PS 11BS)
Will start shadowing DO next week
DO I have a shot at DO schools this coming cycle?

The mcat will hurt a bit but you still have a reasonable chance

Yes, you have a chance. Be sure to include newer DO schools and those known to be less-selective, stats-wise. Get a letter from the DO.

Some borrowed advice for a more definitive list:

I suggest applying to at least 12 DO schools. Your MCAT of 25 is below the median for many DO schools but there are some schools where the median is in the 24 to 26 range. ACOM, CUSOM, LMU-DCOM, MU-COM, UP-KYCOM, WVSOM, VCOM (all schools ), WCU-COM are schools where you could be interviewed. Of course apply to additional schools in areas of the country you are interested in.
