Hi everyone,

This is my first post on SDN, but reading all of your posts has been helpful in preparing for applying for 2009.

One question- do med schools know which other schools/how many you designated on your AMCAS?

If so, does it hurt you to apply to too many schools or too few? How do they regard the number/type of schools you apply to?

Thanks!

once they accept you they are able to see where else you are accepted but before they accept you they do not know where else you applied. But most schools in the interview will ask you where you applied. that question sucks.

No, they do not have that information.

i believe once they have taken "final action" (accept or reject) on your application, they do.

there's even a certain point (after they've accepted you) where they can see your status at every school to which you applied.
