Driving Highway 1 on Interview

My California inter views are staggered - I go from San Jose to LA and then back up to Sacramento. A friend told me that I should Drive highway 1 bc it is so beautiful. This route adds about 3 hours to the trip. I was wondering if anyone knows if the experience would be worth the hours. Im from the SouthEast so I prob only have one chance to drive it.

It's definitely worth seeing. If you won't make it back to California any time soon, take advantage of the opportunity.

I drove the entire california coast north to south as part of my honeymoon.

Be sure to rent a fun car...consider a convertible.

If you have an extra night to spend, book a hotel in Monterey/Carmel, CA which is mid-CA... very beautiful!
