what is an ED volunteer?

Someone who helps out doing miscellaneous tasks in the Emergency Department. Tasks include things like moving patient gurneys to different departments, refilling stock supplies, observing physicians, etc.

There is a program here for students to volunteer as Clinical Research assitants in the ED. We screen patients and collect data for whatever studies they have us working on at the time. And... we get to observe stuff too.
