Hello all,

Thanks for your guidance with previous posts. I was wondering if people in NYC area can tell if there is a listing of exempt settings to do postdoctoral hours under supervision.

Thanks.

There is no list. It typically works the other way around, meaning that you find out whether the setting you are at is considered exempt. There are general categories of settings that tend to be exempt, including federal institutions, state/city settings, and some non-profits. I'm not sure what the common theme is among them, other than possibly that they allow a non-licensed person with a psychology doctorate to be called psychologists on the job. Given your previous thread, however, I'm not sure how this fits in because I'm thinking you would need to first find out if you can even work in this capacity? Hopefully the state board can clarify this for you.
