Extracurriculars in Different Fields

Here’s a question I have out of curiosity. How do the extracurriculars needed to obtain acceptance into medical school compare to the extracurriculars needed in other stable fields (e.g. nursing, engineering, computer science)? I know that medical schools prefer year round or school year activities, while other fields prefer summer internships, but other than that, how do they compare?
