Doing an online search, I was not able to find this.

What does the symbol -/- after a gene mean? For example, abcx2-/-

I'm thinking this probably signifies that both alleles are negative for a trait, but just wanted to confirm.

Careful with conflating traits and genes.

abcx2+/+
means that the individual has two functioning copies of the gene (usually wild-type).
abcx2+/- means that the individual has only one functioning copy (heterozygous null/knock-out).
abcx2-/- means that the individual has no functioning copies (homozygous null, full knock-out).
