I have xp and it always crashes after a while and restarts. I've tried to clean it with adware, spybot, and norton. It still does the same. Does anybody know what's wrong with my computer.

Get a MAC

Symantec AntiVirus and Adware SE should fix your computer.
If not, clean up your home drive- delete all your unnecessary documents.

Make sure your Adware program is the SE version.

Make sure you reboot in safe mode before you run Adware SE. You need to have a minimal amount of processes running. Also, be sure to update the definitions before you run it. Lastly, try using a browser like Mozilla instead of IE in the future.

Do a few things--disconnect yourself from whatever network/internet connection you are on, and backup your hard drive asap (in case the worst happens). Also run a virus/spyware scan WHILE disconnected...see if it can detect anything in that mode. Sometimes spyware interferes in its own detection as long as the "third party" is still hooked up to it.

My own computer had become unbearably sluggish due to spyware that I couldn't remove, and I spent all of yesterday backing up my files and then finally just wiped my hard drive.

that's what happens when u visit too many pron sites. maybe back up and re-install XP, start fresh?

My computer started freezing up like crazy last spring; I tried everything software related but nothing worked. Finally I opened up a program that gave motherboard and processor temperatures, and the processor was running VERY hot. I opened up the computer and cleared out a small handful of dust from everything, including the heatsink and off the air intake and output fans. (be very careful using compressed air and a vacuum because of static electricity, apparently it's not the smartest thing to do). But anyway, I cleared all of the dust out, and the computer started running at about 20°C cooler than it had been, and didn't freeze up anymore.

Just another thought.

I second the statement- at the risk of sounding like an ad- I was so opposed to getting a mac for the longest time. I cant believe all the time I wasted on my old PC now. Macs are a 1000x easier to use.

Get a Mac... no popups, adware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. It allows me to do with my computer what I want and that is work and surf. No major problems in the three years I've owned this laptop and the only reason I am planing on getting a new one is because I want a new one. I have no doubts that this laptop could last another few years but alas I've got the disease of bigger better and faster... which explains why my pockets are always empty

porn is over-rated.

And another good thing about macs is that you can't play addicting video games lol.

Do a reformat on windows xp and reinstall windows xp (its really), just make sure you backup all your important data on a cd, disc, dvd, etc...

and when u reinstall make sure you use Mozilla Firefox as your interenet browser, Mozilla Thunderbird, install Norton Antivirus, and Spybot.

other than that, don't go looking for porn on websites, go use some p2p program

you know how in the windows task manager there is are many processes running. Is it alright if I ended the ones that are not defined by "system"

trust me, run adaware again with a customized deep scan. check all green. it should take 30-45 minutes and this will do the trick.

hmmmmm PUT SOEM GLASSES OF WATER ON UR PC
THAT WILL COOL IT DOWN COOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

btw, do this (if you don't want to reinstall, but still i recommend you do, its really not that hard)

go to start menu, run, type in msconfig, on the tabs, go to the startup tab.

you'll see a list of lots of startup items on the left-most column, you need to uncheck all of them that are spyware, or DO NOT need to be booted at the beginning.

To know what each thing is, type the name in google, for example navap32. You don't know what that file is, go to google and type navap32, it'll give you a description of it and if you need it for the system to work. In this case you do need it because its norton antivirus booting up.

However, if its something like qttask, go to google type qttask, you'll see its quicktime player booting up. You don't need that to boot at the beginning because its a movie player

Get it?
