I failed to mention that he applied late last cycle, as in submitted secondary at the end of February, was able to interview during March at a DO school and eventually waitlisted.
Applying that late with that low of a MCAT score is a killer. You need to retake at that score. If not apply early and broadly this time around. Also I would consider podiatry if he is unwilling to retake. However, he is very competitive for podiatry school.
No chance. Good ECs, great GPA, but his MCAT score is 37th percentile, and scoring below 8 on any section - let alone BS - is a red flag. He needs to retake to prove to schools that he understands the material.
